Help the Hunters Point Parks Conservancy weed, prep the beds for Bulbfest bulbs and add plants in the waterfront parks on Thursday and Saturday mornings, 10 AM to noon. Sign up required.
The Hunters Point Parks Conservancy has a few more volunteer gardening days on Thursdays and Saturdays, 10 AM to noon, to prep the beds for the Bulbfest bulbs and add more plants to the parks. Upcoming dates on its calendar include Saturday, October 24 and Thursday, October 29.
Thursday volunteers meet by the Park House near Center Boulevard and Borden Avenue. Saturday meeting spots are emailed ahead of each day. Bring gloves if you have them (gloves are provided for those who need them), a water bottle, a mask, comfortable clothes and closed toe shoes. Volunteers must complete the HPPC volunteer waiver; the Saturday listing also asks for the New York State Parks waiver.
