Here's our Halloween in LIC guide graphic: three pumpkins under a starry night sky.

Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, and LIC has a lot going on. Our guide, A Guide to Halloween in Long Island City (October 2026), puts every event we know about in one place, with times, links and tips for getting around.

It starts early, with a free Halloween Family Day at MoMA PS1 on Saturday, October 17. On Halloween itself, Vernon Boulevard goes car free for Trick-or-Streets, and Hunters Point South Park has Halloween on the Waterfront.

New since Sunday: an allergy friendly section. Lots of kids can't have everything in the candy bowl. If you see a teal pumpkin on a stoop, in a lobby or on a door, it means non-food treats are offered there. That's the Teal Pumpkin Project from FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education). The section has FARE's non-food treat ideas, like glow sticks, stickers and bubbles, plus a few tips for parents.

Does your shop, restaurant or building lobby hand out non-food treats this Halloween? Email contact@longislandcity.info and tell us about it.
