Megami Dojo, which teaches traditional Okinawan Isshin-ryu karate, has published all eight empty-hand kata of the style on its YouTube channel, performed by instructor Sanjay Tirumala.

Tirumala says the goal was to show the speed, precision and explosive power of Isshinryu, and suggests watching with the sound on to hear the snap of the gi.

The dojo also offers a six-session, self-paced online course, and adult group classes in Long Island City for beginners and experienced martial artists. Trial classes are available on request.
