Volunteers help the Hunters Point Parks Conservancy plant more than 15,000 bulbs in Gantry Plaza State Park and Hunters Point South Park, to bloom in the parks next spring. Tools and instructions provided; sign up through the conservancy.

On Saturday, November 7, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, the Hunters Point Parks Conservancy hosts its 12th Annual LIC Bulbfest, planting more than 15,000 bulbs in Gantry Plaza State Park and Hunters Point South Park.

Check in at Gantry Plaza State Park near 49th Avenue and Center Boulevard. The conservancy provides all the tools and instructions on how to plant bulbs, and volunteers of every experience level are welcome. Sign up to volunteer.

The Van Zyverden company donated the bulbs. The conservancy also thanks the NYC Green Fund, Council Member Julie Won, State Senator Kristen Gonzalez and Assembly Member Claire Valdez, and its event page adds ConEdison and DYCD as supporters.

Want to help before the big day? The conservancy runs volunteer gardening mornings on Thursdays and Saturdays to prep the beds.
