A Guide to Pickleball in Long Island City (October 2026)
Where to play pickleball in Long Island City: Gotham Pickleball, CityPickle and Court 16 indoors, park courts outdoors, plus lessons, open play, posted prices, kids tennis and gear.

Updated Oct 2026. We update this guide once a year (next check: Oct 2027). Prices, hours and programs change, so check each club before you go.
Long Island City has quietly become one of the easiest places in the city to play pickleball indoors, with three clubs running four indoor locations between Queens Plaza and Hunters Point South. This guide covers where to play, lessons and open play, what it costs where the clubs publish it, and a kids tennis program that just moved in.
Quick Facts
- Indoor clubs: Gotham Pickleball (46th Avenue), Gotham Pickleball Hunters Point (2nd Street), CityPickle LIC (44th Road) and Court 16 Long Island City (Queens Plaza South).
- Both Gotham clubs list hours of 5 AM to 2 AM, seven days a week.
- Gotham court booking runs $80 an hour off peak and $110 an hour at peak for non-members ($60 and $88 for members).
- Free outdoor play: Dutch Kills Playground is on the NYC Parks pickleball list, and players have taped courts at Gantry Plaza State Park.
Where to Play Indoors
Gotham Pickleball, 5-25 46th Avenue. The original Gotham club has four indoor Laykold Cushion Plus courts and is home of the RTM tournament series. Open daily 5 AM to 2 AM. There is no public phone; email support@gotham-pickleball.com or find them on Instagram at @gotham.pickle.
Gotham Pickleball Hunters Point, 52-37 2nd Street. The newer and bigger Gotham club has eight Pro Cushion courts (six indoor and two outdoor), a championship court for tournaments and streamed matches, lounge areas and outdoor seating. Same hours. It is a short walk from Hunters Point South Park and the Hunters Point South ferry landing, so our ferry guide works for getting here from Manhattan too.
CityPickle LIC, 9-03 44th Road. CityPickle calls it the first indoor pickleball club in New York City. Four climate-controlled courts, a bar and restaurant, and private court booking for groups of up to eight. Hours are 7 AM to 9 PM Monday to Thursday, 7 AM to 10 PM Friday, 8 AM to 10 PM Saturday and 8 AM to 9 PM Sunday. Court Square (7, E, G, M) is close by.
Court 16 Long Island City, 13-06 Queens Plaza South, (718) 875-5550. Mostly a tennis club, with permanent indoor pickleball courts. Hours are 9 AM to 10 PM Monday and Wednesday, 7 AM to 10 PM Tuesday and Thursday, 7 AM to 8 PM Friday, and 8 AM to 5 PM on weekends. Pickleball clinics, open play and rentals are booked on its pickleball page. Number of pickleball courts: UNKNOWN (Court 16 does not list it).
Where to Play Outdoors
Dutch Kills Playground, on 28th Street and Crescent Street between 36th and 37th Avenues, is on the NYC Parks pickleball list. Number of courts and whether nets are provided: UNKNOWN.
At Gantry Plaza State Park, the community-run NYC Pickleball guide lists two taped pickleball courts on the tennis practice courts, bring your own net, with pickup games organized in the NYC Pickleball Slack. This is not an official State Parks listing, so the tape may or may not be there when you show up.
Lessons, Clinics and Open Play
- Gotham runs open play for rated and unrated players, plus leagues and tournaments. Its clinics follow a curriculum from the Racket Professional Organization (RPO), founded by Collin Johns. See gotham-pickleball.com.
- CityPickle lists clinics, open play, camps, leagues and social events at its LIC club.
- Court 16 offers pickleball clinics, open play and court rentals in LIC.
- New to the game? Open play is the easy way in. Most sessions sort players by level, so ask when you book.
