Updated Oct 2026

Looking for a few nights, or a lease that lasts months? This guide splits the two. Short stays start with hotels in our Hotels directory. Longer leases start with brokers and leasing offices in Real Estate. We do not invent rates, rankings, or "best Airbnb" lists. Hours and fees marked UNKNOWN stay that way until a primary source confirms them.

Quick Facts

  • Short stays in LIC usually mean a hotel listing in the directory (Class B transient lodging), not an unlisted apartment rental.
  • NYC short-term rental rules apply to apartment and private-dwelling stays under 30 consecutive days. Hotels and other Class B multiple dwellings follow a different path. See the Mayor's Office of Special Enforcement Registration Law page linked under Short-term: apartments and platforms. This guide is not legal advice.
  • Long-term leases and sales are listed through local brokers and building leasing offices in the Real Estate directory.
  • We do not list Airbnb or VRBO operators as directory businesses. Use the city's registration rules if you are hosting or booking that way.
  • A New Developments tracker is not LIVE on this site as of Oct 27, 2026.

Short-term: hotels

Start at Hotels. Each listing links to the hotel's own site, phone, and address.

Ravel Hotel sits at 8-08 Queens Plaza South overlooking the East River and Roosevelt Island. Phone (718) 289-6101. Official site verified Oct 27, 2026.

Boro Hotel is at 38-28 27th Street in Dutch Kills. Phone (718) 433-1375. Official site verified Oct 27, 2026.

Paper Factory Hotel is at 37-06 36th Street. Phone (718) 392-7200. Official site paperfactoryhotelny.com verified Oct 27, 2026 (an older seed file was a Success page and was not used).

Z Hotel NYC is at 11-01 43rd Avenue. Phone (347) 642-9457. Official site zhotelnyc.com verified Oct 27, 2026.

Hours and nightly rates: UNKNOWN here. Check the hotel's own site or call before you book.

Short-term: apartments and platforms

If you are thinking about a stay under 30 consecutive days in an apartment or private dwelling, New York City has registration and hosting rules under Local Law 18. The Mayor's Office of Special Enforcement explains them on its Registration Law page. Read that page (and the related host FAQs on the same site) for the current rules. This guide does not tell you whether a specific listing is legal.

Long-term: brokers and leasing

For a lease or a purchase, start at Real Estate. Pick a listing, then use the phone or website on that page.

Corcoran (Long Island City office) is on Vernon Boulevard in Hunters Point.

Douglas Elliman (Long Island City office) is also on Vernon Boulevard in Hunters Point.

Modern Spaces is a Long Island City rooted brokerage with a Vernon Boulevard office at 47-42 Vernon Blvd (and a 46th Avenue office). Phone (718) 784-1110. Official site verified Oct 27, 2026.

Building rental offices and lotteries show up in Real Estate when we can source them. Fees, hours, and availability: UNKNOWN unless the listing says otherwise. Call or use the listing's website.

Practical tips

  • Confirm the address and phone on the directory listing against the business's own site before you book or apply.
  • For hotels, ask about parking, subway access, and check-in times on the hotel's own page. We do not invent amenity lists.
  • For leases, ask the broker or leasing office which fees apply (application, broker, move-in). Mark anything they cannot confirm as UNKNOWN on your own checklist.
  • Short-term apartment hosts and guests: start with the city's Registration Law page linked above, not with a social post.
  • Spot a hotel or leasing office we missed? Email contact@longislandcity.info or post in LIC Community.

How to use the directory

Open Hotels or Real Estate, scan the names, then open the listing. Every business named in this guide links to its directory page. Official websites live on those listings.
